Ultrasound was requested to assess the pelvic organs as the cause for pain. Case Description Transabdominal pelvic ultrasound revealed a 6 cm dermoid cyst in the right adnexa. The normal right ovarian tissue was not visualised separate from this cyst. Diagnosis/ Discussion/ Treatment/ Follow up A few months later, the patient had a follow up CT scan of the abdomen and pelvis for a different assessment which also confirmed the presence of the fat-containing right ovarian dermoid cyst.
